The examples in this post are relatively old news, but the sentiment remains. A few months ago Adrian
Peterson informed the league of his desire to change his number from 28. The league responded to All-Day AP
with a resounding SURE!, but only on the condition that Peterson buy the remaining unsold #28 jerseys.
